Popular Chinese Buffet restaurant expands menu, renovates on 12th anniversary year
After being closed for nearly three weeks for renovations, the North Vernon China Buffet reopened for business earlier this month.
"We are happy to be open again," said Jenny Chen, who with her husband, Andy, own and operate the popular eatery. "We thank our customers for their patience while we were closed."
Located at 1599 N. State Street in the Tenn Oaks Plaza, China Buffet looks like a brand new restaurant with new furnishings and furnishings.

C'bus' rehab program recognized nationally
Columbus Regional Health's Rehabilitation Centers at Marr Road in Columbus and Nashville have been awarded Outcomes Excellence Certificates from Focus On Therapeutic Outcomes, Inc. (FOTO), a nationwide outcomes database and reporting service for healthcare providers. The certificate is awarded only to the top rehabilitation facilities across the country in recognition of excellent patient treatment outcomes during the past year.

Sarah Payne, Jonathon Taylor earn ribbons at several fairs
Sarah Payne and Jonathan Taylor have visited county fairs throughout southern and central Indiana . They have been returning home to Jennings County with ribbons to celebrate the showings at the fairs.
Both children are taking their musical talents to the stage as they represent Jennings County at fair sponsored talent shows.
At the Johnson County Fair, Sarah won the musical instrument category and the solo
In addition, Sarah competed at the Indiana State Fair in the youth talent show where she received third place finish in the musical instrument category when she played a selection on the piano. She also received first place in the solo novelty act and together Sarah and Jonathan won the group novelty act. The novelty acts were sign language the two used to interpret a song.

Old National Bank promotes 3 people to market president
Old National Bank announces the promotions of Chris Ertel to Market President, Commercial Relationship Manager for the North Vernon Market; Ray Eakins to Market President, Banking Center Manager for Seymour; and Scott Poling, Market President, Commercial Relationship Manager for the Columbus Market.
Ertel has been with Old National for 33 years serving in several different roles in both retail and commercial banking. He earned both a bachelor's and master's degree from Indiana University.

Victoria Helms of Jennings County was recognized as a 2015 honoree at the 34th annual Tribute to Women dinner hosted by the Indiana Federation of Republican Women (IFRW) on Friday, Aug. 7, at the Ritz Charles in Carmel.
