Accomplishments of adult ed center owes much to community support
Jan Suding, Jennings County Education Center (JCEC) director, presented an informative program at the weekly breakfast meeting of the North Vernon Kiwanis on Jan. 22.
Jan expressed her excitement for the accomplishments of students at JCEC. These have been recognized by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development through a tracking system called a performance incentive schedule.

Honda of IN earns EPA's Energy Star recognition
Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC (HMIN) has joined a pair of Ohio Honda facilities in earning the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) ENERGY STAR certification for 2014, marking the third consecutive year that the Greensburg plant has been honored for its energy and environmental performance.

Longest serving Casa in Decatur honored as Volunteer of the Year
Advocates for Children has named Pam Meyer of Greensburg, Indiana as the agency's 2014 Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteer of the Year.
Meyer was sworn in as a CASA volunteer in 2002, and is the longest serving volunteer in Decatur County.In her 12 years as a volunteer, Meyer has served on 23 separate cases and advocated for a total of 47 children.
When she first volunteered with Advocates for Children, Meyer was a Hospice nurse in her professional life. She has since retired from the nursing profession, but her passion for helping people in need remains as strong as ever. She normally carries a case load of three cases at any given time, while serving in a volunteer capacity for several other community organizations.
