Open house at Vevay's SE Independent Living Center to mark Disability Month
The Southeastern Indiana Independent Living Center (SIILC) will hold an open house as part of its efforts to promote Indiana's Disability Awareness Month.

SIILC will host a Disability Awareness Open House on Friday, March 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at its main office located at 114 W. Main St. Vevay.

Larry, Judy Wahlman to be feted at open house
Larry and Judy Wahlman of Dupont will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, with an open house given by their children from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Jennings County Community Building.
Mr. Wahlman and the former Judith Short were married March 1, 1970, at Zion Baptist Church near Hayden.

SE REMC sponsoring youth trip this summer to Washington, D.C.
Southeastern Indiana REMC and other electrical cooperatives in the state are sponsoring the Indiana Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., June 18-25.

The tour is open to high school students who will be seniors in 2020-21. The cost is $1,550 per student and the application deadline is Monday, March 2.

Orientation meeting for substitutes is set Wednesday, the 4th
All people wishing to work as a substitute teacher this 2019-20 school year for Jennings County School Corporation should attend an orientation meeting Wednesday, March 4 at Jennings County Schools Central Office, 34 Main St., at 9 a.m. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information through an in-service activity for people wishing to apply for placement on the school district's approved list of substitute teachers for the current school year. Lindsey Morris a Distinguished Graduate
St. Mary School's 2020 Distinguished Graduate Award was presented to Lindsey Morris on Feb. 1 as part of the Catholic Schools Week celebration.

A 1998 graduate of St. Mary School, Morris has been a first grade teacher at her alma mater for nine years.
