Mr. and Mrs. John Bott of Scipio will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at the St. Mary's Parish Center, Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at 6 p.m. Mr. Bott and the former Rita Hornback were married July 24, 1965, at St. Mary's Catholic Church by the Rev. Omer Eisenman. Mr. Bott retired from Cummins after 39 years of service and Mrs. Bott retired after 15 years as coordinator of religious education at St. Mary's. The Botts are members of St. Mary's Catholic Church. They are the parents of three sons, Bryan Bott of Commiskey, Patrick Bott of Burney, and Scott Bott of Whiteland. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Deppe of North Vernon recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a trip to Tennessee. Mr. Deppe and the former Teresa Hughey were married July 12, 1975, at East Columbus United Methodist Church in Columbus. Rev. Wayne Patton officiated the ceremony. Mr. Deppe is retired from Lowe's Distribution Center and his wife currently is employed at Columbus Industrial Electric. She is also a volunteer with Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Angel, Sr. will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. Angel and the former Linda L. Marksberry, were married July 25, 1965, at Vernon Baptist Church by pastor David A. White.. Mr. Angel is retired from Arvin Industries after 41.5 years. His wife is a homemaker. The Angels are the parents of three sons, Tommy Jr., Gary Wayne, and Donnie Edward Angel. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Malcomb of North Vernon are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Sunday, July 26 at the Rolling Hills Shrine Club, SR 7N, from 1 to 4 p.m. Mr. Malcomb and the former Barbara Meeks were married July 25, 1965, in Scottsburg. Judge O.E. Hedrick officiated. The couple own and operate Malcomb's Barber and Beauty Salon in North Vernon. As well as celebrating their anniversary, they are also celebrating being self-employed in this city for 50 years. He serves on the Jennings County Council, North Vernon Board of Aviation, and is a member of North Vernon Masonic Lodge #59 and Murat Temple of Indianapolis. The celebration will from 2 to 5 p.m. at their home. Mr. Jones and the former Charlo Spannuth were married June 20, 1965, at the First Presbyterian Church in Anderson. Both Mr. and Mrs. Jones are retired from the Jennings County School Corporation. During his 38 years in the system, Mr. Jones taught vocational agriculture and served as attendance officer, dean of students, and assistant principal at Jennings County Middle School. His wife taught family and consumer science at Jennings County High School for 34 years. They are the parents of two sons, Greg Jones of Lafayette and Jeff Jones of North Vernon.
