The Vernon High School Alumni Association will meet Saturday, May 4 with the meeting beginning at 7 p.m. in the Vernon gym.
After meeting in the evening for over 100 years, the group will vote on whether to change their time to afternoon. With the youngest class in their 70s now, some of the members prefer to drive in daylight, especially those coming from out-of-county and beyond.
A suggestion from his cousin persuaded Larry Sporleder to go into a career he has spent the last 40 years being successful at.
Those four decades were celebrated recently as friends, family and fellow real estate agents gathered at the Tom Lawson Real Estate & Auction office in downtown North Vernon to honor Sporleder who has witnessed some dramatic changes in local real estate office over the years.
