Couple, employee charged with fraud
A couple well known in Jennings for their support of their handicapped child have been arrested and charg-ed with abuse of the Medi-caid system.
Monica J. (Howard) Darlage, 45, and her husband, Brian R. Darlage, 46, 125 SW Cherokee Dr, NV are both charged with welfare fraud and forgery, both C felonies; and Medicaid fraud, a D felony.
The two turned themselves in March 5 after a warrant was issued the 4th. Each bonded out on $2605 cash bond.

Man convicted of sexual misconduct will appeal
In a bench trial last summer, Brian Keith Roach, was found not guilty of sexual battery but guilty of sexual misconduct with a minor, a D felony, and child solicitation, a D felony.
In a sentencing hearing earlier this month, a pre-sentence report summed up aggravating factors as the extreme emotional anguish and mental health issues of the victim (HH); the defendant has 3 prior misdemeanor convictions; the defendant has an outstanding warrant from Pima County, Arizona and a pending misdemeanor charge in Hancock County; and he violated a position of trust with regard to the victim.

The court has ruled on Jacob Daniel Jones' petition to modify and finds he has successfully completed purposeful incarceration; he has obtained his GED; but he still remains subject to the sentence of the Jackson Circuit Court for D felony cases in 2012 and 2013.

Just a few charges are filed over the past week
Betsy A. Mullins, 33, 40 Hoosier Dr, NV has been charged with theft, (Jay C Store), a D felony; and possession of paraphernalia, an A misdemeanor. The charges stem from May 2014 when a witness reported seeing a woman later identified as Mullins loading plants into her car without paying for them.

Says INDOT was negligent
Indiana Farm Bureau as the insurance company of Tony R. Lichlyter is suing the Indiana Dept. of Transportation (INDOT) for $1958.42.
The attorney for the insurance company wants copies of all pleadings, and orders forwarded to McNeely, Stephenson in Shelbyville in its pursuit of property damages incurred by its insured, Tony R. Lichlyter, as a result of an incident on April 4, 2013 on State Road 3.
