Jennings' new human resources director Nicci Lucas has 'hit the ground running'
Public service is in her blood, says Nicci Lucas.
"I can't get away from it," she said. "I enjoy it."
Lucas started her job as human resources director for county government July 15.
She moved to the position after two years working as Superior Court reporter for Judge Gary Smith. Lucas was also the Superior Court reporter for five years under previous Judge Jim Funke.
In the interim, Lucas worked in the private sector also working with the public and in human resources.

APC office lists most recent permits issued
The Area Plan Commission issued a total of 73 permits for the month of July. Total estimated cost of work to be done was $2,598,328 with $8,993.16 collected in fees.

4 school board jobs to be filled
Four school board positions will be on the ballot this November, 2 At-Large jobs currently held by Steve Elmore and Travis Shepherd and two District 4 jobs, held by Tony Daeger and Amy Pettit. District 4 encompasses all of Center Township, including the City of North Vernon.

Woman charged with Medicaid fraud
Catherine Feaster, 30, 2023 Lincoln Dr, Sellersburg has been charged with Medicaid fraud, an L6F, and 11 counts of forgery, all L6Fs.
The charges were brought after Brian Goodwin of the Indiana Attorney General's Office of Medicaid Fraud, investigated a complaint that a male health care worker was being paid for caring for a Medicaid recipient while actually in jail
