Making a 'house' a home
Making a 'house' a home
Gary Beck relaxes at his yard sale last month to help clean out the pole barn structure he built at 64 Norris Avenue. Beck obtained a building permit to construct a home at that site. Because he was using the structure for the unintended purpose of storage, the Area Plan Commission sued. Earlier this summer, the court ordered Beck to stop using the building as a storage facility and to transform the space into a home by Sept. 20 or face further action which could include demolition. At last report, Beck said he has moved items out and will work on making the space his home by the date specified by the judge.-Staff Photo by Barbara King
