The Jennings County 911 Dispatch Center received 965 emergency telephone calls and text messages during the month of November, reports 911 Emergency Dispatch Executive Director Britt Burgmeier. Of the month's total, 794 calls or 82 percent of the total emergency calls were from cellular telephones, 86 calls (9 percent) were from landline telephones, 46 calls (5 percent) were Internet-based calls and 39 (4 percent) were text messages. The total number of non-emergency calls coming in to 812-346-4911 last month was 3,409 while the staff made 1,000 outgoing calls. Emergency res-ponse services are available to Jennings County residents seven days a week, 24 hours a day, in the Jennigns County emergency dispatch. The group coorinates all emergency response in the county.
