For awhile, it looked as though the school board race this election year would be pretty sparse. With last Friday noon the deadline for candidates to file, just three incumbents had stepped forward for the positions at the start of this week. By the deadline, though, five additional residents made their wishes known formally, with 4 filing in the last day-and-a-half. Here are the candidates who will be on the ballot for November: District 4 District 4 takes in Center Township which includes North Vernon. Two will be elected: Tony Daeger, incumbent, 1355 E CR 450 N, North Vernon; Susan Denise Taylor, 1675 Twin Oaks Dr, North Vernon; Brenda Dixon, 209 Bay St., North Vernon; and Ann Biehle Henry, 425 N. State St., NorthVernon. At-Large Candidates for the two At-Large spots can live anywhere in Jennings. Four people have also filed for these two spots. They are: Steve Elmore, incumbent, 7275 N. Private Road 625 W, Scipio; Travis Shepherd, incumbent, 2130 S CR 400 W, North Vernon; James Warren Lucas, 8765 E CR 575 N, Butlerville; and David Warren, 3720 S CR 275 W, North Vernon.
