More local landowners have decided not to accept the State of Indiana's offer to purchase land or right of ways for the northeastern leg of the US 50 bypass around North Vernon. The state has offered the Revocable Trust Agreement of Rita J. Apsley, Leading Way Farm, Inc. $24,900 for 3.752 acres, more or less. The state has offered Roy "Bud" Young of North Vernon $8600 for simple title and a temporary right of way for real estate totaling 0.9 of an acre in three lots. The third suit involves Sheila D. Calhoun, 485 W CR 250 N, NV. She has been offered $33,900 for appropriation of 4.664 acres. The state is asking the court to appoint three neutral appraisers to evaluate the value of the properties.
