Friday, March 27, is the final day for youth hunters to apply for a reservation to hunt one of 21 Indiana Department of Natural Resources properties during the special youth wild turkey hunting season, April 18 and 19. Southeast Missouri State University inducted its 2014 Athletic Hall of Fame Class during a special dinner and ceremony earlier this year. Emily Wahlman Greenwald, a 1999 Jennings County High School graduate, was one of those honored. The 2000 Redhawks volleyball team, of which Greenwald was a member, along with Mary Kate Farrington (gymnastics 1994-97), Donald Metz (baseball/basketball 1967-70), the Rust family (Friends of the Redhawks), Angel Rubio (football 1993-97) and Derek Winans (basketball 2001-05), formed the 13th class since the Southeast Missouri Athletics Hall of Fame was established in 2002. Six years after leaving the position of head football coach for Jennings County High School, Rick Zimmerman has agreed to step back into that position and lead the team beginning with the upcoming season.
Three Jennings County Swim Club members competed in the 2015 Indiana Senior Short Course Champion-ships over the past weekend. Jaelyn Millon, Trever Wilson, and Broderick Hageman took their talents to the University of Notre Dame to compete against a multiplicity of other high school and college swimmers.
