Tame the Terrain returns for another race at the Muscatatuck Park
Saturday they "Tamed the Terrain" at the Muscatatuck County Park during the annual Tame the Terrain race benefitting programs at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
The annual race not only draws participants from Jennings County, but from all around the Hoosier state. Several out-of-state racers joined in the fun as well this year. In total, 770 people competed in the race.
Tame the Terrain involves a variety of obstacles set up to test your skills and endurance. For example, you may wade through waist deep water, climb up and down the side of a hill, walk on narrow boards that are located several inches above the ground. And it all ends with you jumping through fire.

Detour provides time to commune with nature
When I learned State Road 3 was going to be closed I was a bit upset.
You see, that is the road I live on and the one I take to work. So, that means I was going to have to find a detour. Luckily they closed the road right at one of the roads that goes through Crosley State Fish and Wildlife Preserve.

Captain's Romp 5K Sunday in Lexington
Register to participate in the Englishton Park Eleventh Annual 5K Run/Walk on June 17. There is an 8:15 a.m. start time. Registration on race day opens at 7 a.m. The event will begin and end on the grounds of Englishton Park, going through parts of Lexington and along Indiana Highway 203 on a scenic, historic course with rolling hills and bubbling brook. This 3.1 mile run (or walk) will trace part of the Civil War trek of the infamous General John Hunt Morgan. The starting signal for the race will be the firing of a muzzleloader.
