It is a delicious throwback to simpler times. At Rockey Top Truck Stop, the fresh hot coffee flows, the cinnamon rolls melt in the mouth and the Dickie Burgers stick to the ribs. Rockey Top Truck Stop isn't really a truck stop. There are no fuel pumps outside. The parking lot is big, but not big enough to accommodate more than one or two semi-trucks. Eighteen-wheelers do occasionally stop at the Hayden landmark on busy Highway 50, and truck drivers eat there at times. But Rockey Top Truck Stop is not a truck stop.
