All politics is local. And politics don't get any more local for voters who live in North Vernon than the upcoming city election. There will only be one race in the primary on May 7 - and then only on the Democratic Party side.
And, as it stands now, there will only be three races out of the seven elected city offices in the general election on Nov. 5. Yet that can change if the Republican and Democratic parties find candidates to fill empty slots on the ballot. Wednesday, February 13, 2019

I am writing to thank North Vernon area residents for sharing the true meaning of Christmas with children in need this past holiday season.
Because of the generosity of donors in North Vernon and across the United States, Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse, collected more than 8.8 million shoeboxes in 2018. Combined with those collected from partnering countries in 2018, the ministry is now sending more than 10.6 million shoebox gifts to children suffering from poverty, natural disasters, war, disease and famine.
