■ KISSES to Jay-C and Walmart for providing shopping times specifically for senior citizens. Walmart is open to those 60 and older from 6-7 a.m. Tuesdays; Jay-C senior hours are 7-8 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
■ KISSES to all the first-responders who are making calls to residents who may be sick with COVID-19.
■ KISSES to all of our healthcare workers who are stepping up, putting their own lives at risk in order to care for COVID-19 patients, especially those who are critically ill. .
■ KISSES to all those who are working in "essential" businesses, from grocery stores to pharmacies to liquor stores, all to ensure everyone has what they need as we stay at home and practice social distancing.
■ KISSES to the volunteers and others operating area food pantries, who are making sure everyone has enough to eat, even if they are not earning a paycheck.
■ HISSES to anyone who is still resisting the governor's order to stay at home if they do not work in the "essential" workforce. Their selfishness will force the order to stay in place longer that it might have to.
■ KISSES to everyone who is checking in on neighbors and family members - from a distance - to make sure they are safe.
■ HISSES to people who insist on staying negative and looking for someone or something to blame for the spread of coronavirus.
■ KISSES to Joe Wahlman and his family. Mr. Wahlman died Saturday at age 67, and had served his community as a member of the Jennings County Park Board for more than a decade.
■ KISSES to Mother Nature, for the beauty of spring, even if it means enjoying it through our windows or from decks, patios, balconies and porches.
