Top 'Styrofoam Pollution Award' goes to Polar Pops
Dear Editor,
I walk my dog and pick up trash along County Road 25 East and County Road 20 North.
In just a few times out over the last few weeks, I am ready to award the Styrofoam Pollution Award to Polar Pops at Circle K. They easily won in my Christmas Tree of Non-recyclable drinking cups that get thrown onto the roadways. I suspect the outcome would be universal for Jennings County.
Many of these blow into our river and make their way to ocean.

Jury's 'leftist mentality'
Dear Editor,
Hisses to Democratic Party-governed sanctuary city San Francisco for clearing a known felon who has illegally crossed our border five times, in the murder of Kate Steinle. The jury did not even return an involuntary manslaughter verdict!

'Grandma has DGS'
Dear Editor,
When the pharmacist at the JayC Store in North Vernon asked Grandma if she had her flu shot, she replied, "No, I'm not getting one.

I recently appreciated seeing the front page of our newspaper filled with happy stories.

Letter writer misinformed
Dear Editor,
I have noticed when factory workers in the North Vernon area cash their checks at the bank, the checks of the Mexican Nationals are about $200 more than the Americans. That is due to the fact that they pay no taxes!
It is my understanding that they are exempt for seven years.

Honor flag, kneel to God
We honor our flag. We do not kneel to our flag. We kneel to God. (Re: "Why not kneel to the flag?" Nov. 9.)

Pardon innocent animals
Dear Editor,
President Trump is getting his pardon pen ready, as the Mueller investigation starts indicting his associates. He already practiced on two very innocent Minnesota turkeys.

Irresponsible gun owner
Dear Editor,
The irresponsible gun owner who lost his loaded handgun at a school gymnasium and did not miss it should not have one!

Re: "Tripton Park plans unveiled," Nov. 9.
I like the plans for the new park. Congratulations to the forward-thinking individuals who working to repurpose the abandoned golf course property.

Power to the people

I thank the person who wrote the letter to the editor "City violates Constitution by illegally seizing vehicles" (Nov. 9). You hit the nail right on the head. Power to the people!

Why not kneel to the flag?
For those who think President Trump is so great, you could not be further from the truth.
Trump is for the rich and the wealthy, but most of all he only likes the rich white people.

Dear Editor,
You have heard of the Ghostbusters. Let me introduce you to the fraud-busters. Every community should have them. To apply, you must be intuitive, willing to confront big shots, ask them probing questions and have tremendous forecasting abilities.

'Wonderful production'
Dear Editor,
I wholeheartedly agree with your review of the Jennings County Players' wonderful production of "Arsenic and Old Lace" ("Dark comedy is bully fun," Oct. 26). A fantastic performance was presented by all!

Meat industry is scary
Dear Editor,
I have no fear of goblins, witches or evil clowns lurking on Halloween. What really scares me is the meat industry.

Just like 'South Park'

Here is an opinion.
America is getting more and more like the TV show "South Park" every day.
Enough said.

Wayside Inn Homeless Shelter controversy
Dear Editor,
Last month I offered to apply for some grants for the Wayside Inn Homeless Shelter because they wanted money to help pay Colleen (Malone, then the director) a decent wage.

'... All done to feed egos'
Dear Editor,
I am so disappointed after reading of the dealings of the Wayside Inn.
I know Colleen Malone is not a fighter but how sad that others can take over her dream and claim the accolades for this.
