'Other guy' just might have a good point
Dear Editor,

I did not appreciate the censorious and condensing tone of a letter in the Nov. 5 newspaper. Now along with Mrs. Clinton's description of "deplorables," we conservatives are "pitiful," to be pitied.

Voters have spoken
Dear Editor,

I'm an America voter and did my part in this last election.

I'm wondering just what in Sam Hill is wrong with Trump's thinking? I myself as every American voter and American is tired of hearing Trump boo-whooping and blubbering because he lost to a better man!
What's so difficult about that?

Need to review process
Dear Editor,

The founding fathers in composing the Constitution never intended for the president to be selected by a general election but by chosen electors in each state.

Defends Trump as the best president ever
Dear Editor,

I'm proud of Jennings County, the states of Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky for voting for President Trump.

This has been the most corrupt election the United States has ever seen. How can man who sat in his basement for five months, had 10-100 people at his rallies, beat a man who had 25-75 thousand people come to each of his rallies?

Clerk/Auditor lawsuit: It is never simple, but there is a process
Dear Editor,

I have been reading with interest your articles on the lawsuit between the JC Clerk and Auditor.

As a performance improvement consultant who has worked with literally hundreds of state, county and nonprofit departments, boards and agencies throughout the United States I can say that working with multiple agencies on a project is never simple but there is a process.

Writer pities both 'man in White House' and followers
Dear Editor,

Are you sure, Mr. Hammersley, that you aren't being a little self-righteous about your ability to name and tag haters?

Certainly the last four years have been an exercise in recognizing judgement and wrath! However, the emotion I am left with is pity; not hate.

Writer: I like being a Democrat
Dear Editor,

Why I Am a Democrat

First and foremost, let's remember we are the "Big Tent Party." We accept "all" who care about Freedom, Liberty and Individual Rights. Let us celebrate and embrace our differences. Diversity enables people to see beyond their own horizons. Democrats have strived to serve All in their communities. Even in deeply '"red" states like Indiana, there are many liberal thinking individuals and groups that continue to serve the common good without consideration of their politics.

Never cease being vigilent
Dear Editor,

Where do you want to be in the next four years? Looking at our nation that's drifting from its Biblical foundation, we are in a great spiritual battle that is threatening our nation. People complain, they get angry over things they consider wrong or unjust in our nation. No one participates in the process of changing it for the better.

You can chose who to vote for
Dear Editor,

If you are undecided on a presidential candidate, you can still vote for any and all local races.

Lot of hate going round
Dear Editor,

Hate is an awful acid to the soul. It would be great if the true haters would realize that and change their ways. Haters, such as US Representatives who throw a hissy fit and refuse to attend an inauguration or tell people to "get up in the faces" of Trump personnel or supporters.

Asks for vote for Christian values
Dear Editor,

The book of Revelation speaks of a one-world government. Have you thought of how this will come about? Obviously, something major will happen which will cause nations to lay down their sovereignty and agree on a one-world government.

Masons make good men better
Dear Editor,

Recently I was asked why I didn't write a rebuttal to the person who a few weeks ago ranted about the Secret societies. Most times a mature Mason seldom tries to argue with a misinformed nonmember.

Stolen Biden signs prompts letter
Dear Editor,
Two weekends in a row, someone has removed Biden/Harris and Jeanine Lake signs from our yard. Last Sunday, my husband asked if the Republicans were trying to steal the election because someone was stealing all the Biden/Harris signs.

Has 3 questions and answers
Dear Editor,
Who knows future purposes of single use plastic in our soils, filling our seas, seafood even our bloodstreams?

Consider what God can do
Dear Editor,
No matter what you find yourself in today we should all try to learn in the coming days, facing many challenges and decisions. Sometimes we won't know exactly what to do, there are only two possible directions; we our way or God's way.

Casinos should follow the gov
Dear Editor,

Over 150 casinos nationwide chose to reopen smokefree as part of their COVID-19 precautions. Some states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey made all casinos smokefree statewide. Here in Indiana, French Lick Casino and Four Winds Casino each chose to make their facilities smokefree for the safety of their guests and workers.

Put yourself in others' shoes
Dear Editor,

My letter is in response to Mollie B's attack in the Sept. 24 edition of the Plain Dealer & Sun titled "We need to stand up to bullies as socialists shout us down".

Previous protests had a good result
Dear Editor,

I have been observing Black Lives Matter throughout the country. I am reminded of an earlier period of riots in objection to the war in Vietnam. At the time I was employed at the First National Bank in North Vernon. During this period I attended the graduate school of banking at Madison, WI. I was shocked at the damage to that campus caused by the riots. The next year it was worse as this was the year the weathermen set off a van load of explosives in front of the Army research center, billing one man.

We need to stand up to bullies as socialists shout us down
Dear Editor,

Life is an adventure from the time you are born until you pass away. If you believe in God, your life is pretty much charted out for you. You may change these charts with circumstances around you, but hope is that you take a path of morals, respect for others and yourself, being a good citizen, a steward of the land, work hard and you'll achieve success you hadn't imagined. Even if you fail, pick yourself up, and you'll be okay to try again.

Thoughts on secret societies
Dear Editor,

If you were misinformed about something that would have a negative effect on you, wouldn't you want to know the truth?
