Ready to vote for Biden
Dear Editor,

I want to make it clear that I am not a Democrat or a Republican. I am an American citizen. I simply watch and listen. I base my views and vote on whomever shows me that he or she is for the American people.

Dems fail on national debt
Dear Editor,

"Free health care for all" is estimated by some economists at $32.4 trillion. The left claim they have a plan to pay for this. They don't. But once again the Democrats have predictably put the cart before the horse for the sake of pie-in-the-sky votes, and then back to their career vacation.

Are car washes exempt?
Dear Editor,

Re: "City stresses water conservation," The Sun, Oct. 22. So they threaten to fine or disconnect you if you wash your car in your own driveway. Are the commercial car washes and professional detailers shut down, or is it business as usual?

Bring back 'chirping' at jail
Dear Editor,
Big hisses to the Jennings County Jail, the sheriff and the staff for eliminating the cheapest form of communication available to the inmate population, the "chirping" texting devices, all in order to increase the jail's profits off e-cigarettes and commissary items.

Why do we seemingly never change in America?
Dear Editor,

My head is filled with random thoughts. I'm watching "Country Music," Ken Burns' excellent documentary series about the life and growth of the history of America in song and the artists' lives that made it. It is like looking at a family picture with all the young and old, the big and little, good and bad, rich and poor.

More information needed on food inspection reports
Dear Editor,

Where are dates or time period for this report? (Re: "Health Department releases food inspection report," The Sun, Oct. 8.)

Hated by the establishment
Dear Editor,

Democrats love to repeatedly point out that being a whistleblower is a patriotic duty. Indeed it is.

So pointing out all the rampant and real corruption of the Bidens, as well as the entire Obama administration, has now made Donald Trump the most patriotic whistleblower of all time!

NV youth makes most of Holiday World tickets
Dear Editor,

Thank you for the Holiday World/Splashin' Safari tickets.

An example for all of us
Dear Editor,

I went shopping at Walmart the other day and found there was a Hispanic woman working there.

I went up to her and asked her if she is a Mexican National. She said yes. I told her I was glad she was in the States. She told me thanks.

Migrants are not animals
Dear Editor,

If the president can buy an island like Greenland, it definitely would not be cheap. So he can pay for that border wall himself he wants so badly instead of taking money from our military.

Make a choice to be happy
Dear Editor,

It has been a while since I wrote, but I would like to pass on a poem I wrote about choices to be made even when we feel like there is only one choice.

Let us never forget 9/11
Dear Editor,

When my pastor read his text Sunday evening from Psalms 78:42 this thought came to me, "We have failed but we can fix it!"

More new sidewalks and repairs are needed in city
Dear Editor,

I enjoyed reading the "25 years ago and longer" column in the Aug. 22 Plain Dealer and how John Hall was able to get some college kids to repair old and build new sidewalks in the summers.

Democrats facing long, hard road to 2020 election
Dear Editor,

Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get.
Nancy Pelosi was successful in regaining her position as Speaker when the Democrats regained control of the House. Today, she has to be the unhappiest person in the country. As she assesses the problems Democrats have going into the 2020 election, I doubt she can even see any light at the end of the tunnel.

Metal detectors at schools
Dear Editor,

Every time I turn on the TV or read the news, I hear about kids bringing guns to school.

Over 10 years ago there was talk about putting metal detectors on the doors of the schools. The state then said that would cost too much. But look how many kids have died because the state wouldn't put in metal detectors at school entry ways. How many more kids are going to die
before this is done?

Farmers made bad mistake in 2016
Dear Editor,

I have a few simple questions for you farmers who voted for Trump back in 2016.

Did you enjoy the high prices of soybeans during the Obama administration? Soon after the Obama administration saved the world form a financial meltdown in November 2010, soybeans had risen to $13.25 a bushel. By September 2012, beans hit a high of $17.59. Profits were sky high and life was real, real, good.

The value of compromise
Dear Editor,

As I read the news or follow people on Facebook, I'm hurt by narrow-minded ideas. When I see opposing opinions, I look to try to find what is the source of their opinion or prejudices.

GOP's good, smart people
Dear Editor,

The letter to the editor by Thomas Smith ("We are all citizens of this world," Aug. 15) disgusted me so much, I almost vomited.

A two-tier justice system
Dear Editor,

Attorney General William Barr's announced decision to not pursue criminal charges against former FBI Director James Comey for taking classified information to his home has some commentators mystified, shocked and dismayed. It was reported FBI agents went to his home and retrieved the information.
