Even 'far-left rags' agree on Ukrainian interference
Dear Editor,

It seems that our esteemed editor is still busily shoveling donkey excrement. He has given two issues highlighting what he calls the debunked Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election. This delusion just has a couple of problems.

Veterans need to unite
Dear Editor,

Commissioners, it seems that once again you have picked a target to work on.

We must forgive all who wronged us, even Trump
Dear Editor,

This is for the people who don't know how to say anything nice about anything or anyone. For those who won't say anything nice, shut up.
Ever since Trump got in the White House, all I hear is griping about this or that. Most of the ones who are griping are the Republicans. Let me tell you one thing: Those words, "Democrats" and "Republicans," are just titles.

Old and enjoyable 'tidbits'
Dear Editor,
Here are four more interesting tidbits from that old autograph book.

1. Don't it make you mad / don't it get your goat / when you're in the bathtub / and find you're out of soap?

Motorists, be prepared for Buckeye Street challenge
Dear Editor,

Re: "Buckeye Street finally reopens after long delay," The Sun, Nov. 19.

Worst sub-base compaction job ever! A new street should not be this rough!

Teachers deserve our support
Dear Editor,
I am fairly old and rather opinionated, I have been told. Yet I endeavor to be a moderate voice at a time often of extreme views on many diverse politically hot subjects.

Teachers' union answers criticism
Dear Editor,
The Jennings County Classroom Teachers Association (JCCTA) would like to address concerns mentioned in the letter to the editor ("Why I am disappointed in the teachers' union," Nov. 14) pertaining to the Red for Ed Action Day Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Indianapolis.

Trying to find perspective as risks loom on horizon
Dear Editor,

Here's a suggestion to the intelligent men and women of this community. (This includes a local lawyer I had contact with on FB.) Read the article in the Smithsonian Magazine this month entitled "Behind the Lines" by Greg Miller, the untold story of the secret U.S. mission to capture priceless mapping data held by the Nazis.

Why I am disappointed in the teachers' union
Dear Editor,

This is my personal opinion. As a young boy growing up in New Castle, I believed all my teachers walked on water. However, I feel that the teachers' union could have handled their rally coming up next week in Indianapolis a lot differently.

A World War II soldier's story
Dear Editor,

My uncle and my dad's brother, Kenneth Miles, was in the Army during World War II. He was trained to be in the medical corps but he was not a medical doctor. He said he drove an ambulance while he was in Europe. His job was to pick up the wounded and fatalities and take them to a medical facility behind the lines. He gained the nickname "Doc" while he was in the service.

Ready to vote for Biden
Dear Editor,

I want to make it clear that I am not a Democrat or a Republican. I am an American citizen. I simply watch and listen. I base my views and vote on whomever shows me that he or she is for the American people.

Dems fail on national debt
Dear Editor,

"Free health care for all" is estimated by some economists at $32.4 trillion. The left claim they have a plan to pay for this. They don't. But once again the Democrats have predictably put the cart before the horse for the sake of pie-in-the-sky votes, and then back to their career vacation.

Are car washes exempt?
Dear Editor,

Re: "City stresses water conservation," The Sun, Oct. 22. So they threaten to fine or disconnect you if you wash your car in your own driveway. Are the commercial car washes and professional detailers shut down, or is it business as usual?

Bring back 'chirping' at jail
Dear Editor,
Big hisses to the Jennings County Jail, the sheriff and the staff for eliminating the cheapest form of communication available to the inmate population, the "chirping" texting devices, all in order to increase the jail's profits off e-cigarettes and commissary items.

Why do we seemingly never change in America?
Dear Editor,

My head is filled with random thoughts. I'm watching "Country Music," Ken Burns' excellent documentary series about the life and growth of the history of America in song and the artists' lives that made it. It is like looking at a family picture with all the young and old, the big and little, good and bad, rich and poor.

More information needed on food inspection reports
Dear Editor,

Where are dates or time period for this report? (Re: "Health Department releases food inspection report," The Sun, Oct. 8.)
