Let the sun shine bright
Amazing, but on the same day we had what can only be described as an angry conversation with a local person ostensibly about the Open Door Law, we received news that Richard Wyatt Cardwell, former executive director of the Hoosier State Press Association had passed away.

Why not us?

Thank You
We couldn't count the number of times we have covered the activities of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post here in North Vernon.

When our children were little, we would take them down to Vernon every Memorial Day as we covered the annual service for the Plain Dealer & Sun. The service was held to honor those men and women who died defending the freedoms we Americans exercise every day. The very fact you can read this editorial written by a local person or write an opinion letter and have it published are just two examples of the freedom we so often take for granted.

personally invested in saving the Madison Avenue property.

Kirkpatrick and Newhouse as original cosponsors of the Local Journalism Sustainability Act are Indiana Representatives Andre Carson and Pete Visclosky.

America's Founders regarded a free press as so vital to the new nation that they took care to include that right in the First Amendment to the Constitution.
