Following a hugely popular four-term mayor, Harold "Soup" Campbell had big shoes to fill. In the eyes of his constituency, Campbell filled those shoes quite well. North Vernon voters elected him twice by large margins to the city's highest office.
Campbell passed away Monday at the age of 72, leaving a hole in the heart of the city. Ever the public servant, he was in the midst of a campaign for a seat on the city council. Out of office for the last four years, he wanted to serve the people again. Wednesday, September 18, 2019
