We're not going to try to humor ourselves into believing that whatever scheme state lawmakers come up with for repairing and maintaining highways and bridges will have much impact here in rural Indiana.
Some of the matters I want to see addressed by the General Assembly during the 2017 session that just started last week include keeping Indiana as one of the best states to do business, having a long-term sustainable plan to fund Hoosier roads, ensuring our state lives within its means when crafting the budget and supporting our rural and vocational school programs.
