Son of former sheriff graduates from police academy
The dedication, training and sacrifice it takes to be a police officer is significant, and at 24-years-old, Adam Driver of North Vernon has proved his dedication by graduating from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Plainfield as a member of the North Vernon Police Department (NVPD). He started his career as a Reserve in 2018 and became a full-time officer in March 2020.

Trial set for a man suspected of murdering Holton woman
The body of Kristina "Krissy" Jones was discovered in this residence just north of Holton in Ripley County on Jan. 11. A man suspected of being responsible for Krissy's death was arrested on March 26 in Jennings County. An initial hearing took place three days later.

The Jennings County community can get an early taste of this Halloween tradition during a presentation by special effects makeup artist Danielle Colbert, who will be speaking at the Jennings County Historical Society on April 16 at 6 p.m.
