Jennings reports second death
|Another Jennings County resident has died from COVID-19. County health nurse Pam Petry said the victim had been hospitalized for the disease and died Sunday, April 26.|
The total number of positive cases in Jennings County stands at 76. Petry said new cases seem to be slowing down here.
Statewide, the total of positive cases was 16,588 as of noon Tuesday, according to the Indiana State Department of Health. So far, 901 Hoosiers have died from the disease.
A total of 87,181 have been tested, with 2,757 of those being new.
In Bartholomew County, 238 cases have been reported, with 11 deaths; Decatur, 195 cases, 11 deaths; Jackson, 125, with 1 death; Scott, 39 cases, 2 deaths; Ripley, 91 cases, 5 deaths; and Jefferson, 26 cases reported, and no deaths.
