Internet available at JCHS for College Goal Sunday Oct. 25
College Goal Sunday will be held virtually this year due to COVID-19 considerations.

It will be the first completely virtual event but is necessary to keep families safe, said Bill Wozniak, co-chair of College Goal Sunday.

"We hope all Hoosiers who have not filed already take advantage of College Goal Sunday, file the FAFSA, and get one step closer to fulfilling their educational goals," said Wozniak.

JCSC teachers: It's all a 'Go' for opening day Thursday, Aug. 13
The first official day of the 2020-21 school year for Jennings County School Corporation has arrived, and thanks to the extra time allotted from the back-to-school postponement, teachers and staff are feeling much more prepared to start the term.

"The extra time has made us feel ready for any situation," Callie Garrett said. Callie is the Title One and Instructional Coach at Jennings County Middle School. "We're going to do the very best we can for all students."

St. Mary's School experience bodes well for JCSC
If last week's opening of St. Mary's Catholic School is any example, the public opening of schools will go just fine.

North Vernon's private preschool through eighth grade institution reports everything to date is going just fine. Students are wearing masks, social distancing, complying with other safety measures set up to stem any COVID-19 spread and generally just being "Fantastic! They far exceeded my expectations. The kids were incredible. They did everything expected of them," reports principal Lisa Vogel.
