The first official day of the 2020-21 school year for Jennings County School Corporation has arrived, and thanks to the extra time allotted from the back-to-school postponement, teachers and staff are feeling much more prepared to start the term.

If last week's opening of St. Mary's Catholic School is any example, the public opening of schools will go just fine.
North Vernon's private preschool through eighth grade institution reports everything to date is going just fine. Students are wearing masks, social distancing, complying with other safety measures set up to stem any COVID-19 spread and generally just being "Fantastic! They far exceeded my expectations. Three scholarship and stipend opportunities for student teachers are open for the 2020-2021 school year, according to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. Funding is available for Black and Hispanic students, as well as those who plan to teach in high-need fields, such as math, science or Special Education.
