The annual Jennings County Democratic Party JJ Dinner will have a new, COVID-19-safe twist to it this year.

Election squabbles cannot stop the 2020 election from going forward.
Ballots have arrived and are all securely locked up. The absentee board has been meeting the past week to go over absentee ballot requests. And as of Tuesday at the close of business, the Jennings County Election Office reports a total of 940 absentee ballots have been mailed out to local residents, including 6 e-mailed to military service people.
County Clerk Amy Thompson, accompanied by Republican representative Lou Randall and Democrat rep Warren Byford, traveled to Indianapolis Sept. 14 to pick up the 13,850 ballots requested. "This was my choice, to take them," explained Thompson, to avoid "any appearance of impropriety" concerning the ballots. Wednesday, September 23, 2020
