Jennings voters vary on who they think should hold elected positions, but it seems everyone who took the time to vote shared one goal - to build a better America.

If there was ever any doubt Jennings is "Trump Country," the 2020 election results erased them.
The Trump candidacy received a nod from a total of 9362 local voters for a total of 77.47 percent.
In contrast, Joe Biden received 788 votes or 18.23 percent and the libertarian candidate garnered 50 for just over 1 percent (1.16). Wednesday, November 4, 2020
The 2020 election will definitely go down in the history books what with working through the pandemic and a record setting number of absentee and walk-in ballots cast.
"It was challenging and exciting," declared JC Clerk Amy Thompson. Voter turnout exceeded 65 percent (65.56 to be exact), with 5,031 absentee/walk-in ballots cast.
Of the 4323 "straight ballots" cast, 80.62 percent or 3485 were for the Republican Party; 788 for the Democrats; and 50 for the Libertarians.
It's no wonder that Jennings County "Grand Old Party" saw red again as they gathered at The Barn election night to see victories posted.
Once again, it was a clean sweep, although "sweep" may be exaggerated since there were only two elected position races on the ballot this go-round.
The atmosphere at The Barn was calm and friendly as to the possible outcomes in the two contests - Commissioner District 1 and one of the three spots open for Council-at-Large.
Council candidates David Woodall, Howard Malcomb and Eugene "Gene" Rudicel all felt fairly confident of their chances of serving together. Before all results came in to secure their position, each man said the same thing: "It's looking good so far."
Gene Rudicel, who ended the night with the top vote count for County Council noted, "The guys running with me are awesome dudes. They've got a lot of experience. Maybe they can teach me something." Wednesday, November 4, 2020
