The Hayden Historical Museum will be holding their pie baking contest again this year as part of the Harvest Past event on Saturday, Sept. 1. Contestants can bring one or more fruit pies to be judged to the Hayden museum kitchen anytime between 9 to 11 a.m.

Wayside Inn - Thanks to volunteers, shelter now a welcoming home
Wayside Inn finally reopened its doors on Aug. 1 after weeks of internal and external renovations.
Beth Burnett, president of the Wayside Inn's board, said renovations mainly involved building a wall around the homeless shelter's furnace and installing a new kitchen which was donated by St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
The rest was, in the words of Burnett, "painting, scrubbing, reorganizing, and training volunteers."

Twenty-four churches and various organizations are teaming up to make sure you and your family have nice clothes to wear. As such, donations are being taken Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 13 and 14 from 8:30 a.m to 6 p.m. at The Family Clothes Closet at 203 East Main Street, Westport, located in the Outreach building of the Westport Baptist Church, right across the road from the church.
