Retired art teacher opening studio for kids' camps and other events
Local artist and retired JCHS art teacher Barb Ison is opening "Copper Blue Studio" for summer camps and canvas parties.
The Studio is located at her home one mile north of CSL on SR 7.
The first camp is planned for third through sixth graders, May 23-26. The cost of the "Aloha" themed camp is $32 for four days from 9 a.m. to noon. An early learning camp can be added upon request for the following week with the same requirements. Just call!

Scholarship offered by GOP group
The Plain Dealer & Sun, a member of the Indiana Republican Editorial Association, is joining the IREA in co-sponsoring a scholarship program which will award one $500 scholarship to an Indiana student.

61 Years of Leadership at the NV/JC Chamber
67 people attended the first meeting to organize a local Chamber of Commerce at North Vernon High School on May 24, 1955 with the goal of forming an organization to "coordinate all of the city's activities. Such as united charity funds, retail promotion and industrial expansion."
