During Liver Awareness Month this October, the American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to give blood and platelets to support liver transplant patients and others needing blood products.

Harmony Quilt Guild displays year's work
For the past year, members of the Harmony Quilt Guild have cut. pieced, sewn and toiled over quilts they were making. On Saturday, Sept. 19, all their hard work was on display.
The annual quilt show was conducted at Stream Cliff Farms in southern Jennings County. Visitors from surrounding states along with visitors from throughout Indiana were on hand to view some of the beautiful creations made by guild members.'

Lots of fun events in October at MNWR
The following events will take place at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge during the month of October:
Log Cabin Day is Saturday, Oct. 10, at Myers Cabin, with visits to the closed area of the Refuge, a bean supper, and a chance to step back in time with pioneer crafts and fun for the kids.

Jackson Co. Library has free craft programs
The Jackson County Public Library will offer free craft programs for children ages five through 11 at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Medora Library and at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Crothersville Library. Participants at both locations will make a Halloween witches legs bookmark.

St. Mary's best Festival...ever
St. Mary's Parish Fall Festival concluded with the biggest crowds yet and the most fun ever, especially for the winners of this year's raffle.
Winning the top $5000 prize was Lucinda Hostetter.
$1000 winners were Mary England-Parish; Sam Wagner; Heather Barger; Nancy Apsley; and Jerry St. John.

Homecoming 2015
Jennings County High School Homecoming 2015 will go down in the record books as being one that was filled with lots of fun and excitement while at the same time having a dark cloud hanging over it.
The week unfolded with students selecting "Back to the Future" as the theme of the festivities. With the theme in mind, each class was given a decade that they would celebrate throughout the week.
