Funding a college education
Funding a college education
Laurie Dickerson assists JCHS senior Catlian Webster at the recent College Goal Sunday, an event that helps future college students fill out applications for financial aid. JCHS counselors were thrilled with the turnout for the free event and will hold another session in February to assist with the Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms. Dickerson, who works in the I-Grad Program at Ivy Tech, says she volunteers every year at JCHS to help students and also helps at other FAFSA sessions around the state. "It is my passion," she says of helping students afford college. "I love to do this!" As for Catlian, she was very interested in obtaining financial aid, especially so because her goal is to become a surgeon, which takes years of graduate education and training.-Staff Photo by Barbara King
