Local artist and retired JCHS art teacher Barb Ison is opening "Copper Blue Studio" for summer camps and canvas parties. The Studio is located at her home one mile north of CSL on SR 7. The first camp is planned for third through sixth graders, May 23-26. The cost of the "Aloha" themed camp is $32 for four days from 9 a.m. to noon. 67 people attended the first meeting to organize a local Chamber of Commerce at North Vernon High School on May 24, 1955 with the goal of forming an organization to "coordinate all of the city's activities. Such as united charity funds, retail promotion and industrial expansion."
