Tour goes down in history a great success
This year's Town and Country Home and Gardens Tour was a huge success, reports Chris Asher, of the JC Historical Society. In addition to the many Jennings County folks who came in the museum and shared how much they enjoyed the tour, people from Indianapolis, Louisville, Cincinnati, Columbus, Seymour and Greensburg were impressed with the beauty of the gardens, the historic homes and the Biehle barn.
"When asked if there was something tourers enjoyed most they repeatedly said that 'hearing the history from the property owners themselves of how their historic home and barn evolved into what it is today as well as how just one flower bed soon became an expansive estate of water features, prayer gardens, outdoor kitchens and even a She Shed was truly unique.' Tourers are already putting the 2022 tour on their calendar," says Asher, museum curator.
"It was a wonderful weekend. Everyone practiced social distancing and wore a mask. Jennings County has many outdoor venues for locals and visitors to enjoy. We're all in this together and we're all for promoting Jennings County."
