Extension offers virtual workshop
Purdue Extension is hosting "Preserve It Now...Enjoy It Later," a virtual home food-preservation workshop.
Sessions meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday on Zoom.us. The first session, held this past Tuesday, discussed equipment; lt was recorded, as all sessions will be.
Upcoming sessions are: Freezing, June 9; Boiling Water-Bath Canning, June 16; Jams and Jellies, June 23; Pressure Canning, June 30; Pickling, July 7; Dehydration, July 14; and Fermentation, July 21.

Jennings County stands at four deaths related to COVID-19, the serious respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
According the Indiana State Department of Health, the number of confirmed cases in the county Tuesday stood at 131, with 665 people tested.
Tuesday's report shows the number of reported daily deaths statewide was 46, bringing the total to 2,022. There were 430 new positive cases, bringing that total to 35,237. Nearly 271,919 Hoosiers have been tested.
Surrounding counties: Bartholomew reports 521 total cases, 38 deaths; Jefferson, 46 cases, one death; Scott, 121 cases, 3 deaths; Decatur, 225 cases, 31 deaths; and Jackson, 394 cases, 2 deaths.
Nationally, confirmed COVID-19 deaths totalled nearly 107,500 this week.
