Pastor Connie Barr used scripture base Romans 8:28-39 June 23 for her message titled "Nothing Can Separate us From God's Love," at New Bethel United Methodist Church. She used an illustration of separating the yolk from the white of an egg then scrambling it together for a mixture to represent our life with God. Once we accept Him in our life, nothing can separate us from Him, even when evil is present. 'Trying circumstances will not deter Him from being our defender as He intercedes for us."

Rhubarb 'bolting' can be from a variety of environmental issues
We humans can be so difficult to please. When plants flower when we want them to, we call it blooming. But when plants flower when we don't want them to, we call it bolting. Flowering is an undesirable trait when growing rhubarb; therefore, bolting describes the event.

Life of a bag worm is a 'drag'
Like most caterpillars, bagworms are voracious eaters as they store up calories for growth, metamorphosis and reproduction. Now is the time they do the majority of their damage to evergreen trees and shrubs, so be on the lookout for activity. A large infestation can literally strip an evergreen of nearly all its needles.

Bird watching choices
There's one house finch on the thistle seed feeder outside the window in front of my desk and a cardinal on a branch of the tree nearest the platform feeder but there are no birds on that feeder.
