After more than a decade of frustration, the Staples Ford Bridge project came to fruition Tuesday (April 19, 1994) as bids were opened. The new span over the Muscatatuck River will be replace an old steel bridge on Priscilla Lake Road, also known as County Road 900 West, at the Spencer and Marion Township line.

Pastor Connie Barr's April 14 message title at New Bethel U.M.C. was "Jesus Said When He is Lifted up From the Earth, He Will Draw all Men to Him" taken from scripture John 12:27-33. She asked "What is your greatest fear? Perfect love casts out fear and this reminds us of the serenity prayer. If Jesus Christ is your Savior, you have no fear. Do not walk in darkness toward Satan, but put your trust in the light, Jesus Christ. Satan would like to destroy our faith. If tempted, go back to the cross and find Jesus again."
