New Bethel News
Pastor Connie Barr's Jan. 12 message title was "God Gives Us Strength to Slay Our Giants'" taken from Scripture base 1 Samuel 17:45-47. As you might surmise, this lesson was about David and Goliath. Pastor reminded us a gentle word will turn away wrath. Angry words fly out of our mouth before we think. A leader will remain calm and conquer anger. "Courage is fear which says prayer." David had five stones in his pack to fight Goliath but the first stone hit center and Goliath fell forward on his face, defeated. David gave God the glory. In our life, we face giants every day. "Remember to live the word of God. Claim it! Give God the glory and you will conquer your giant."
