Interesting birds at my feeders
Without a subject in mind for my next column, as I went to bed I thought: "Tomorrow morning I'll go driving on country roads."

NEW BETHEL NEWS
Pastor Connie Barr's Feb. 16 message title was "Jesus' Shed Blood Cleanses us from a Guilty Conscience" and her scripture base was Hebrews 10:19-25. After asking us if we have a clear conscious, she said, "the greatest tormentor of the human soul is a guilty conscience." Adam and Eve tried to cover their conscience and body with fig leaves, but we know it takes more than that to alleviate our misery. Most of us need an attitude adjustment with our forgiveness, and need to change our ways of living daily. The shed blood of Christ is our promise of forgiveness in a dedicated Christian life.

New Bethel News
Attendance was down by more than half Sunday and we also had another visit from the skunk. Pastor Connie Barr chose Jeremiah 31:3, 31-33 for a base of her sermon titled "God Loves Us With an Everlasting Love." Jeremiah never felt adequate to do his job, but continued to stand for truth. We know yet today that criticism is prevalent in our daily life. Also, those who do the most criticizing are ones who do little work. God will use us at any age, and we must carry on; being faithful and obedient.

There were the usual winter birds at the feeders outside the dining room window when I sat down to breakfast one morning late in January.
