Why I will miss being a pastor
I don't believe that I will ever receive an honor greater than for someone to call me their "Pastor."
I'm not talking about the official title that is given to someone on their first day. I'm talking about the heartfelt acknowledgment from a member of the church that says, "This is MY pastor."
I will miss that.
For years I told church members when they see me around town not to introduce me as "our Pastor." "Instead," I said, "introduce me as a guy I go to church with!"

Six or seven doesn't seem like a lot. But I have often driven more miles than they rode and not seen six or seven indigo buntings.
