Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few. -Winston Churchill
Twenty-five years ago, on the 50th Anniversary of the end of WW II, the Plain Dealer & Sun published a special supplement in two parts that documented the diverse experiences of many of the local men and women who served during this conflict. Included was a listing of those who gave their lives in this "ultimate conflict" that determined the freedom of so many here on earth.
We republish the names today, as we honor these lives cut short and the debt we owe to these local people who rose to this historic challenge. Wednesday, September 2, 2020
