Phyllis Marion Comer, 85, of Scottsburg died Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Traditions Senior Care Facility in Sellersburg.
Funeral services were at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Interment will at Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Leota. Mrs. Comer was a retired supervisor of the dietary department for the old William's Manor Nursing Home in Scottsburg where she worked for over 20 years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Leota and enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardens.
Born October 7, 1934, in Washington County, Mrs. Comer was the daughter of Homer Marion and Inez Robinson Marion. She was married April 2, 1984 to Floyd W. Comer and he preceded her in death June 14, 2008.
Survivors include sons, Bill (Florence) Burton and Logan and Ed Mitchell, all of Scottsburg; daughters, Dolly Brais, Sharon Burton, and Shirley (Dave) Mitchell-North, all of Scottsburg, and Rose (Harry) Law of Underwood; brothers, Robert (Linda) and Victor (Diane) Marion, both of New Hampshire, Leon (Arlene) Marion of North Vernon, and Frank Marion of Dayton, Ohio; sister, Norma Coats of Salem; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Comer was preceded in death by brother, Ronald Marion; and sisters, Almeda Price, Bonnie Sue Hardin and Carol Valentine.
Memorial contributions may be given to Bethel Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
