Billy Raymond Brooks enjoyed the outdoors
Billy Raymond Brooks, 58, of Vernon died June 4, 2017 at his residence.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017, from 1 until 3 p.m. at the AmVets Post #7 in North Vernon. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Mr. Brooks was a 1976 graduate of Jennings County High School and served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a forklift driver for Erler Industries for one year and had previously worked maintenance for Dolly Madison Bakery in Columbus for 27 years. He enjoyed fishing, hanging out with friends, gardening, and kayaking.
Born October 14, 1958, in Seymour, Mr. Brooks was the son of Everett and Doris Fay Bedal Brooks. He married Pamela Kelly January 2, 1993 in Jennings County and she preceded him in death in 2002.
Survivors include his daughter, Trena (Henry II) Phelps of North Vernon; companion, Donna Napier of Vernon; mother, Doris Brooks of Seymour; brother, Leonard Brooks of Freetown; sister, Dee (Tom) Foga of North Vernon; half-sister Donnie Howard of Michigan; and grandchildren, Seairra Foga and Angelrose Wood, both of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Ronnie Brooks; sister, Beverly Ann Brooks; and half-brother, Lewllen Jean Brooks.
