Mary Lou B. Wenning, 68 was well known musician
Mary Lou Branneman Wenning, 68, of Madison died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 2:21 a.m. at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Funeral services were Monday at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Madison with Father Christopher A. Craig officiating. Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery in Madison. Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wenning was a 1963 graduate of Cloverdale High School and had worked with Public Service of Indiana. She also worked with Indianapolis Power and Light, Goodyear Tire, Hall's Laundry and for the Jefferson County Clerk's office. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Mrs. Wenning was a talented musician and enjoyed singing in the Music Valley Singers. She was also artistic and shared those talents with others, either with something knitted or crocheted.
Born January 25, 1945 in Green Castle, Mrs. Wenning was the daughter of Cleon and Maxine Neese Branneman. She married Marvin N. Wenning in Madison on March 8, 1968 in Plainfield. He survives.
Other survivors include her son, Marc (Courtney) Wenning of Independence, Kentucky; daughter, Meri Jo (Mark) Thorpe of Hanover; her mother of Clarksville; sister Betty Jo (Dale) Steele of Charlestown; two brothers, David (Doris) Branneman of Mitchell and Dean (Ronda) Branneman of Jeffersonville; and grandchildren, Matthew, Kristin and Aiden.
She was preceded in death by her father.
