Donald Raymond "Donnie" Clark, 78, Deputy, died Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville, Tennessee. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Dan Corbin officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, March 29, 2021, 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery. Born May 6, 1942 in Blue Ash, Ohio the son of John William and Minnie Ester (White) Clark. He married Virginia Franks on June 4, 1965 at Green Acres in North Vernon; she survives. Donnie served in the National Guard and worked for Arvin's in North Vernon for 25 years and retired after 16 years with the Jennings County Highway Department. He was a member of Tea Creek Baptist Church, Jennings County Water Rescue, Hoosier Canoe Cub, Viking Canoe Club in Louisville, Kentucky and was a raft guide in North Carolina. Donnie enjoyed anything mechanical, hunting and camping, and spending time with his family. He loved the water, kayaking and canoeing. Surviving with his wife are son, Donnie (Paula) Clark of North Vernon; daughter, Shannon Clark of Seymour; twin brother, Ronnie (Dorothy) Clark of North Vernon; sisters, Marilyn Watts, Carolyn Roop, Barbara Franks, all of North Vernon, and Jackie (Lynn) Taulman of Commiskey; grandchildren, David (Kelsey) Clark of Commiskey, Devon (Taylor) Clark, Ashley Clark, Alisha Clark, Loren Clark, Kayleen Clark, and Chancelor Clark, all of North Vernon, Zachary Clark of Deputy, and Riley Clark of Austin; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe Ray Clark; sisters, Pat Hathaway, Juanita Bruce, and Betty Wilhite; and grandson, Chase Clark. Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Donnie to help with expenses.
