Zola Mae Sporleder, 95, of Butlerville died at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021, at her home.
Funeral services were Monday, February 8, 2021, at Zenas Baptist Church with Pastor Mitch Harrell officiating. Burial was at Vernon Cemetery.
Mrs. Sporleder was a 1943 graduate of Zenas High School and had worked for Arvin Industries in Columbus. She was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. Mrs. Sporleder loved spending time with family, watching movies, reading, embroidering, and working puzzle books. She was a member of Zenas Baptist Church.
Born in Moores Hill August 9, 1925, Mrs. Sporleder was the daughter of Eber L. And Cora Opal Meehan Stroup. She married Elmer Sporleder December 1, 1946, and he preceded her in death July 15, 2004.
Survivors include a son, Joseph (Sandra) Sporleder of Butlerville; daughters, Bonita (Johnny) Hopkins of Indianapolis, Cathy (Dan) Meisberger of Holton, and Pam (Mason) Simmons of North Vernon; sisters, Mary Lewellen of Scipio and Helen Poling of North Vernon; grandchildren, Karen (Kelly) Gaskill, and Jessica and Ray Hopkins, all of Indianapolis, Deanna (Ryan) Emy of Jasper, Adam (Amy) Meisberger of Reva, Virginia, Matthew (Andrea) Meisberger of Holton, Megan (Adam) Jines of Butlerville, and Patrick Sporleder of Salem, Massachusetts; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sporleder was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Dorothy Smith and Grace Tomlinson; and brother, Eber Stroup, Jr.
Memorials may be given through the funeral home to Hospice of South Central Indiana or Zenas Baptist Church.
