John Robert "Rob" Taylor, 49, of Bargersville died following complications from COVID-19 on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 1:42 p.m. at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.
There was a memorial gathering Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Neal & Summers Funeral Home in Martinsville followed by a Celebration of Life.
Mr. Taylor spent most of his childhood in North Vernon and graduated high school with the class of 1990 from Jennings County High School. His love for sports, especially basketball, and played on the high school team as well as adulthood, weather and time permitting.He also loved playing golf, fishing, traveling, cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and above all, he loved the Kentucky Wildcats. Mr. Taylor was an employee of Sonoco Flexible Packaging in Edinburgh for the past 12 years and currently was a product manager. He loved practical jokes, enjoyed witty sarcasm, and loved life.
Born in Defiance, Ohio, Saturday, November 20, 1971, Mr. Taylor was the son of John Michael Taylor and Terry Sue Miller. Survivors include his wife, Michelle Lynn (Jarrett) Taylor of Bargersville; sons, Robert (Alyxa) McKee of Martinsville and Ben Mackall of Bargersville; father and stepmother, Mike (Irene) Taylor of North Vernon; mother, Terry Miller of North Vernon; brother, Steve Taylor of Madison; half brother, Ryan Miller of North Vernon; sister, Connie (Zack) Hyden of North Vernon; and half sisters, Kathy Wilson of Las Vegas, Nevada and Sheri Taylor of North Vernon.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Taylor.
