Gary Wayne Ferguson Sr., 47, of North Vernon died at 5 a.m. Monday, November 16, 2020, at his residence.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Chris Ferguson officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, November 19, 2020, from 1 p.m. until time of services. Burial will be at Hayden Cemetery. In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines, only 50 people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time.

Mr. Ferguson was a 1992 graduate of Jennings County High School and an EMT graduate of Ivy Tech Community College. He worked for Stone Container for two years and as team leader and machine operator for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus for ten years. Mr. Ferguson was a member of ABATE and the River of Life Church, and he spent several years with the Jonesville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed target shooting, hunting and fishing, camping, hiking, riding four-wheelers, and playing the guitar. Mr. Ferguson also enjoyed
motorcycles, especially Harley Davidsons.

Born October 8, 1973, in Seymour, Mr. Ferguson was the son of Nancy Joan Chastain Smith and Donald Ray Ferguson Sr. He married Tina Philpot November 22, 1992 at the First Apostolic Church in North
Vernon and she survives.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Gary (Amanda) Ferguson Jr. of North Vernon; daughter, Chelsey (Anthony) Nochim of Louisville, Kentucky; his mother of Jonesville; stepmother, Grace Ferguson of Columbus; brothers, Donald "Buddy" (Kellie) Ferguson Jr. of Columbus and Rev. Chris (Penny) Ferguson of Linton; twin sister, Shannon (Christian) Anderson of North Vernon; and grandchildren, Zion and Garrison Nochim, both of Louisville, Kentucky.

Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by his father.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home for expenses.
