Norma Jean Robbins, 85, of North Vernon died at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service with the Rev. Jim Terry officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday, October 7, 2020. Burial will follow at Scipio Cemetery.
Mrs. Robbins was a 1954 graduate of Trimble County High School in Bedford, Kentucky. She had been employed as an attendant for Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville, retiring in 1986 after 20 years. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon. Mrs. Robbins enjoyed crocheting, watching television, pets, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born August 14, 1935, in Milton, Kentucky, Mrs. Robbins was the daughter of James W. and Hazel Coghill Thompson. She married Ronald R. Robbins January 26, 1956, in Madison and he preceded her in death October 30, 2009.
Survivors include sons, Ronald (Betty) Robbins of Columbus and Randall and Michael (Sandy) Robbins, both of North Vernon; daughters, Cathy (Ralph) Foster of Scipio and Tonjua Gale Pearson of North Vernon; sister, Carol Robinson of Madison; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Robbins was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Ricky W. Robbins; brother, Gerald Thompson; sister, Judith Tafflinger; and grandson, Micky Joe Owen.
